Let Your Child Take the Montessori Way
The Montessori way of education teaches kids to be self reliant in any walk of life. It emphasizes on independence, problem solving ability, self-knowledge, and discipline. It allows your children to take their own time in making overall and substantial progress. Let your child experience the Montessori way of education at Loving Care Montessori Center.
The Five Core Areas of Exploration
The Montessori method of learning heavily relies upon five core areas of exploration, which are as follows:
- Practical Life:
As part of practical life, we encourage children to learn a variety of daily life activities such as food preparation, fastening, self-help skills, caring for their environment, etc. When children try their hand at such activities, they're bound to learn important life skills that will hold them in good stead for years to come.
- Sensorial:
Children tend to apply their learning wherever possible, which is why we have the sensorial method in place to aid them in exploring their sense of sight, touch, taste, sound, and smell for new experiences. These sensorial lessons will help your child cognitively to learn more from their environment.
- Language:
Language is crucial to a child's reception of knowledge and education. For this purpose, we stress on using a phonetic approach to help them learn letters, words, and syllables. Children are encouraged during their daily language activities, which builds self-confidence and the love for reading. As your kids become familiar with symbols and sounds, they put letters together and begin the process of reading.
- Mathematics: Dr. Maria Montessori, who was the pioneer of the Montessori method of learning, believed that we're all born with a mathematical mind. We harness your child's mathematical mind by the use of materials such as number rods, which can be felt and manipulated so that the hand and mind are always working together. These materials offer an intuitive method of learning through which your child not only has a great mathematical foundation, but also a good amount of fun and excitement.
- Cultural Areas:
Science, art, history, geography, social studies, and botany were termed the "cultural subjects" by Dr. Montessori. She believed that the knowledge and understanding of these subjects is what makes the difference between a “literate” person and a “cultured” person. At Loving Care Montessori Center, we have blended these "cultural subjects" with the rest of the curriculum in such a manner that your child is not just literate or cultured, but a thoroughly-educated individual as well.
